A few insights on how using ‘Edit DNS Zone’ function to create, edit or delete a DNS Record.
Note: to follow this guide you will need your cPanel login credentials on hand. If you have forgotten your cPanel credentials, they were included in the original Welcome to Serversaurus email which you should be able to find in your inbox otherwise follow these instructions on how to update your cPanel password.
Accessing a DNS Zone
1. Navigate to the Edit DNS Zone function, under the DNS Functions menu on the left hand side of the page.
2. On the next screen, select the domain which DNS you would like to update from the drop down menu. Then select Edit
You should now be able to see all current DNS records for your chosen domain.
Edit a DNS Record
Below is a screenshot of some MX records configured to point to Google’s servers.
If you wanted to edit one of these zones, just click within the text box, make your changes and save.
Add a DNS Record
If you would like to add a new DNS zone, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the Add New Entries Below this Line section. Fill in the text boxes accordingly. Make sure to save your changes.
Delete a DNS Record
To delete a DNS zone, remove the contents out of each text box and save, like below.
Please be mindful that DNS changes can result in your website or email being down, be careful and confident in the changes you are making.
